あなたのみおしえ Your Law
私の目を開いてください。
私が、あなたのみおしえのうちにある奇しいことに
目を留めるようにしてください。
(詩篇119:18)
新しい年が始まりましたが、皆様いかがお過ごしですか？万事順調という人もいれば、さっそく困ったことになったという人もいるかもしれませんね。この新しい年も何が起きるか分かりませんが、良いことも悪いこともすべてを通して、あなたの行く道を守ってくれるものは何でしょうか？
詩篇119篇はとても長いですが、神様のみおしえ（訓示）というものを中心にして詠まれた詩です。「あなたのみおしえ」という言葉は、他の詩篇にも多くの箇所で見られます！これを書いた著者は神様の言葉の大切さを語り、その言葉がどのように自分を助けてくれるのかを描いています。
私は真実の道を選び取り、
あなたのさばきを私の前に置きました。
詩篇119:30
神様のみおしえはこの著者の人生の基準となっています。著者は神様が定めた基準に忠実であろうとしたのです。あなたの基準は何ですか？今年、あなたは自分の心をどこに向けていきますか？
もしあなたのみおしえが私の喜びでなかったら、
私は自分の悩みの中で滅んでいたでしょう。
詩篇119:92
神様のみおしえは著者が何か問題を抱えているときにも安定を与えてくれています。著者は苦しみに遭っても、神様の真実という帰るべき場所を知っています。私たちは困難に遭うとき、どこに向かって走るでしょうか？
高ぶる者どもは、ひどく私をあざけりました。
しかし私は、あなたのみおしえから
逸れませんでした。
詩篇119:51
著者は周りの人々から攻撃されています。彼が神様のみおしえを基準としていることを人々はあざけるのでしょう。そんな人々に対して彼は復讐心を燃やしたかもしれません。しかし復讐ではなく、彼の基準である神様のみおしえに立ち帰ったのです。
この詩篇の著者は神様のみおしえを心から信頼し、それを喜びとしています。ここで興味深いことは、彼が神様の言葉が書かれたものをほとんど持っていなかったということです！ 彼は旧約聖書の最初のモーセ五書だけを参照しています。しかし私たちには、救い主イエス様の言葉と行動を含む、より完全な啓示が与えられています。願わくは、私たちが神様のみおしえ、すなわち聖書に書かれた神様の言葉と啓示に立ち帰るとき、そこに喜びと避け所、確かな生き方の指針を見つけることができますように。
Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.
(Psalm 119:18)
How is the start to your new year? Is everything going smoothly, or have you encountered some trouble already? Looking ahead to this year, what is going to sustain you through the ups and downs?
Psalm 119 is a long poem that centers around God’s law. The phrase “your law” can be found almost every other verse! The writer talks about the importance of God’s words and how they help him.
I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws.
(Psalm 119:30)
God’s law is the standard for the writer’s life. He has chosen to be true to the standards God has set. What is your standard? What do you have your heart set on this year?
If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.
(Psalm 119:92)
God’s law keeps the writer steady in times of trouble. He is afflicted, but he has God’s truth to go back to. What do we run to when we are in trouble?
The arrogant mock me unmercifully, but I do not turn from your law.
(Psalm 119:51)
The writer faces opposition from other people. Maybe they mock him because he has God’s law as his standard. He may want to get revenge on them, but instead he goes back to God’s instructions as his standard.
The writer of this Psalm relies on God’s law so much and it is his delight. The interesting thing is that at the time, the writer possessed very little of God’s written word! Most likely he is referring to only the first 5 books of the Old Testament. We have a more complete revelation, including the words and actions of our savior, Jesus. May we find delight, refuge and a steady guideline as we go back to God’s law…his words and revelation in the Bible.
