賛美すべき理由 Reasons to Sing
新しい歌を主に歌え。
全地よ。主に歌え。
主に歌え。御名をほめたたえよ。
日から日へと、御救いの良い知らせを告げよ。
主の栄光を国々の中で語り告げよ。
その奇しいわざを、すべての国々の民の中で。
(詩篇96:1-3)
詩篇を読むと、それを書いた人の様々な気分や状況が分かります。助けを叫び求めていたり、静かに黙想していたり、時にはコーヒーを何杯か飲んだように思えるものもあります。正直に言えば、私は普段の生活の中で、とても歌う気分になれないこともあるし、神様に歌うための新しい歌を求める気にならないこともあります。でも詩篇96篇は、私たちがよい気分であるか否かにかかわらず、神様を賛美すべき理由を教えています。
神様は毎日賛美されるべきお方です。それは私の気分に左右されることではありません。イエス・キリストによる神様の救いは、いつも変わらない事実です。今日も明日も私たちはそれを語り告げるべきなのです。それは時と共に古くなったりしません。私たちの人生における最も重要な事実であり続けるのです･･･神様が私たちをお救い下さったのです！それは国々の民の中で語るべきことです。私たちのために神様がどんなに素晴らしいことをして下さったかを、今日も誰かに語っていきましょう。自分一人のときは、神様に感謝の歌を歌いましょう。私が置かれた状況は日に日に変わっていきますが、神様が私たちを救い愛して下さるということは変わることがありません。それはみんなに告げ知らせるべきことなのです！
Sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
(Psalm 96:1-3)
When you read the book of Psalms you see a variety of moods from the writers and a variety of situations. Some are cries for help. Some are reflective. Some feel like the writer just had a few cups of coffee. In everyday life I have to admit I don’t feel like singing a song or finding a new song to sing to God. Psalm 96 gives us reasons to praise God whether we are feeling great or not.
God is worthy of praise every day, and it doesn’t depend on how I am feeling. His salvation through Jesus Christ is a fact. We should talk about it day after day. It doesn’t get old. It is still the single most important reality in our lives….God has saved us! That is worth telling among all the nations. Let’s talk today to others about what good things God has done for us. Let’s sing to God a personal song of thanks. My situation changes from day to day but his salvation and love for us never does. That is worth proclaiming!
