神の最強の言葉 God’s Strongest Word
神は、むかし先祖たちに、預言者たちを通して、多くの部分に分け、また、いろいろな方法で語られましたが、この終わりの時には、御子によって、私たちに語られました。神は、御子を万物の相続者として、また御子によって世界を造られました。(ヘブル1:1-2)
私たちは自然を観察したり、周りの環境の中に秩序があるのを発見すると、そこに神様の存在を見ることができます。さらに神様は、時代を通して特定の人々にご自身を知らされました。特にイスラエルの民に対しては明白な形でご自身を示されました。神様はその人々が神様の律法やメッセージを書き記すようにされました。私たちが旧約聖書として読んでいるものがそれです。
ヘブル人への手紙の著者は、私たちが終わりの時代にいることを教えています。私たちは人類の物語の最終章にいるのです。神様は最後に人として私たちの前に現れました。それがイエス様です。神様は多くの人を用いて、預言者や王たちによってしたように語らせました。しかし、最強かつ最良のメッセージは最後まで取っておかれたのです。それが神の御子であるイエス様です。イエス様は神様の最強の言葉です。イエス様は神様が私たちと結ばれる明白なコミュニケーションです。私たちは常にそこに戻ってこなければなりません。神様がイエス様を通して私たちに語りかけておられることは何でしょうか？それはもちろん私たちを愛しておられるということです。神様が私たちへの最終メッセージとして御子をお与え下さったのですから、私たちは耳を傾けなければなりません。その御子が命を与えて下さるほどに私たちを愛して下さるのですから、私たちもその愛に応答しなければなりません。自らに問いかけてみて下さい。私たちは神様の最強の言葉を聴いているでしょうか。
In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. (Hebrews 1:1-2)
We can know that there is a God through observing nature and the order that we see around us. More specifically, God made himself known to certain people throughout time. Specifically, he revealed himself in clear ways to the nation of Israel. He had them write down his laws and messages in what we have as the Old Testament.
The author of Hebrews lets us know that we are in the last days. We are in the final chapter of the human story. God finally appeared to us as a human, Jesus. God used many people to speak through like prophets and kings, but now he saved the strongest and best message for last: his Son Jesus. Jesus is God’s strongest word. Jesus is God’s clearest communication to us and the one that we need to keep going back to. What is God speaking to us through Jesus? It should be obvious that it is his love for us. If God finally sends his Son to give us a message, we should listen. If that Son loves us so much to give his life for us, we should respond to his love. The question is: are we listening to God’s strongest word?
