不思議な奇跡 Miraculous
あなたがたに新しい心を与え、あなたがたのうちに新しい霊を授ける。わたしはあなたがたのからだから石の心を取り除き、あなたがたに肉の心を与える。わたしの霊をあなたがたのうちに授け、わたしのおきてに従って歩ませ、わたしの定めを守り行わせる。（エゼキエル36：26-27）
「使徒の働き」を学んでいると、聖霊の力によって奇跡が行われたという話が出てきます。イエス様の弟子たちは聖霊を授かり、理解できない言葉で話し始めました。今週の礼拝メッセージでは、ペテロが生まれつき足のきかない男を立ち上がらせて、すぐに癒した、という話を読みました（使徒3:7-8）。聖霊は何をして下さるのか、何をすることができるのかと考えるとき、いくつか考察すべきことがあります。
「使徒の働き」における奇跡は、イエスの復活を力強く証していました。さきほど挙げた二つの出来事では、奇跡が多くの人々から注目されました。ペテロはこの二つの出来事を、イエス様が神の子であり、死者の中からよみがえられたことを証する機会としました。私たちは聖霊が不思議な仕方で私たちを通して働かれることを受け入れようと思いますが、それと同時に、「使徒の働き」における多くの奇跡は復活の特別な証明であり、使徒の証言を強化するものである、ということも理解しなければなりません。
聖霊のもう一つの不思議な力は、私たちを変える力です。エゼキエル書の上に引用した箇所は、聖霊の力によって私たちの心を変えるという神の約束について述べています。イエス様を信じるとき、私たちは新生の歩みを始めているのです。私たちの心は新たに作り直され、神に従って、神の望む生き方をしたいと思うように変えられるのです。
「使徒の働き」の奇跡の箇所で読んだように、聖霊が働いて私たちを通して他者を助けることを求めていきましょう。しかし同時に、聖霊が私たちを作り変えるときに、何をして下さっているのかにも目を留めていきましょう。
“Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. (Ezekiel 36:26-27)
As we study the book of Acts we read about miraculous things done by the power of the Holy Spirit. The disciples received the Holy Spirit and spoke in languages they didn’t understand. Last Sunday we read about Peter picking up a lame man and healing him instantly. When we think about what the Holy Spirit does and can do in our lives, we have a few things to consider.
The miracles in Acts provided a powerful testimony to the resurrection of Jesus. In the two stories I mentioned above, the miracles got the attention of many people. Peter uses both events as chances to testify that Jesus is the Son of God and rose from the dead. We want to be open to letting the Holy Spirit work through us in miraculous ways, but we also have to understand that many miracles in Acts are special proof of the resurrection and strengthen the apostles’ testimony.
Another important miraculous power of the Holy Spirit is the power to change us. The above verse in Ezekiel is God’s promise to change our hearts through the power of the Spirit. When we believe in Jesus, we start a process of regeneration. Our hearts are being remade and we are changed into people who want to obey God and live in his ways.
As we read about miraculous events in Acts, let us be open to the Spirit working through us to help others, but attentive to what He is doing in changing and recreating us.
